The intersection which became a sightseeing spot
To get to Shibuya center street from Shibuya station, you need to cross the intersection affectionately known as “Scramble” intersection. This intersection is well-known among Japanese people but it has recently been gaining popularity with overseas tourists as a tourist spot. According to a survey, 42 % of foreign tourists visiting Tokyo come to Shibuya and take pictures in the middle of the intersection in recent years. Surprisingly, more than 500,000 people cross this intersection a day and more than 3,000 people cross it during one crossing at rush hour. Because of this enormous figure of pedestrians, more and more oversea media introduce this intersection as a symbol of Tokyo.
