Sensoji Temple

“Senso” temple (which has been) since 628 years ago.

The “Senso” temple is the oldest one in Tokyo. In 628, two fishers who were fishing at Sumida river (His name is Hinokuma Hamanari and Takenari) caught a statue of Buddha. A baronial family whose name is “Hajimano Nakachi) noticed that the statue is divine and valuable, and he remodelled their house to a temple so that people can pray in front of the statue. This is the origin of the “Senso” temple.

Buddhist deity of mercy “Kannon Sama” is always open to any kind of people and help them.At the “Senso” temple, many visitors have come to pray under this doctrine for more than 1400 years .
